Implementing WMS before ERP – The Unexpected Advantages

Crayola needed to replace its Legacy Warehouse Locator system for some time and it was determined that the organization could not wait for a Legacy replacement. After careful consideration a decision was made to implement RedPrairie’s WMS. RedPrairie’s mainstream and customized systems were interfaced with the existing Legacy systems using a batch interface process. Just prior to the WMS Go Live, a decision was made to implement SAP to replace the Legacy applications. Material Handlers had over 15 months of experience with the beneficial RedPrairie system that could be leveraged during the SAP implementation. On January 7th, 2010, the SAP system was implemented and RedPrairie was fully integrated with SAP through PI.
